Hallie was inspired to become an attorney who makes a difference in people’s lives by understanding individual experiences, offering compassion, and working hard to make changes. She graduated from CUNY School of Law in 2000 as part of the Defenders Clinic, and during such time she interned at the Bronx Defenders, for a Bronx Supreme Court Judge, and a high-profile criminal defense attorney.
Her first law job was in Manhattan working for a firm that represented union members, particularly Correction Officers, in civil matters. She was a voice for Correction Officers facing eviction in housing court, and then during their matrimonial and family law proceedings from the Bronx to Staten Island.
Fourteen years ago, she moved to Orange County where she handled a wide range of cases for low-income individuals and families during their matrimonial, family law, landlord/tenant, disability, foreclosure, bankruptcy, to unemployment hearings; and she ran clinics for uncontested divorce cases. She also spent a significant amount of time at a private law firm in Orange County in their matrimonial/family law department.
Throughout her 20-plus years as a practicing attorney, Hallie has always maintained her primary focus on matrimonial and family court proceedings (for better or for worse) and bringing her legal mind, fight, and understanding to individuals dealing with an especially hard time in their lives. She often can understand and relates to her clients as a person with similar experience who has been divorced and is raising two strong beautiful children on her own as a single mom.
She has been involved in her kids’ activities, including roller hockey, Little League, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, basketball, and their Jewish education while working full-time as an attorney. During her free time, she has volunteered on her town’s committee on the police reform and reinvention collaborative and is active in her Temple, currently as a trustee.
