Charis G. Moore, Esq. is an Associate with Jonna Spilbor Law. She graduated from the State University of New York at New Paltz, with a bachelor's degree in Political Science. She then attended Rutgers School of Law - Newark, where she earned the position of Editor in Chief of the Rutgers Law Record, the school's on-line law journal. She graduated from Rutgers Law with her Juris Doctorate, cum laude, in 2013. Charis is admitted to practice law in New York, New Jersey, and the Southern District of New York.
Charis' primary areas of practice with Jonna Spilbor Law are Criminal Defense, Matrimonial and Personal Injury. She has experience representing clients in traffic ticket, truck and commercial driver citations, DWI/DWAI, controlled substance, violent crime, sex crime, hate crime, and domestic violence matters. In addition, she received recognition as a 2018 "Rising Star" by Super Lawyers magazine. Charis has a comprehensive personal injury litigation background, having previously concentrated her practice in automobile, commercial carrier, catastrophic accident, and premises liability insurance defense areas. She also brings nearly a decade of her own trucking experience and knowledge to her personal injury practice, and is familiar with the unique laws and issues that are intrinsic to complex truck accident cases, including commercial carrier best safety practices, motor carrier regulations, and performance of heavy vehicles in emergency situations.
Charis has an active courtroom litigation and appellate practice, and has drafted appeals to the Appellate Division of the New York Supreme Court, 9th and 10th Judicial District, and the New York Department of Motor Vehicles.
